YOUR IN HOME PHOTO SESSION
"With Growing Family Portraits" no one has to go anywhere except us.
Home is where your child is likely to be the happiest; the most relaxed, and have a dry diaper, which always makes it easier to sit for a camera. It's where a favorite toy, stuffed animal, or blanket is right there for comfort, or to be in the picture.
We bring the equipment, the background, everything necessary to make them look like studio portraits. Without you and your family having to travel off to one.
We will take 10-15 poses during your session in order to capture the full personality of your child. We all experience a variety of emotions and we try and capture them all.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PORTRAIT SESSION
The most important thing you can do to prepare for your photo session is for your child and you to be relaxed. This is why we come to you. With children it's best just to tell them that someone is coming over to play and take their photographs. When everyone is happy and relaxed, the sitting is fun and the expressions we capture are more genuine.
If your baby is sleeping, let her sleep until we arrive. You'll have time to gently wake her/him up.
Have your baby dressed in an outfit you would like him/her to be photographed in and prepare a second outfit if you would like a change during the sitting. We love variety! If children are sitting up, we will try to capture their feet, so socks and shoes should match. Although, bare feet are always cute too! With older toddlers, it's best to dress them after we arrive. This lets them stay comfortable and relaxed.
Try to imagine experiencing your childs portraits twenty or fifty years from now. What would you like to remember? Your childs precious blanket, stuffed animal, favorite toy or something special from grandma and grandpa etc. We will include these in the portrait in a creative way. We want to help you create a photographic time capsule of this very special time in you and your childs life.
Often, a portrait of a mom and her baby can be one of the most enduring memories for a child. Feel free to talk with your photographer about creating such a special portrait.
SPACE: We are used to working in all sorts of living spaces. Our photographer will work with you to create the right place for your portrait session.
TOYS: Two or Three soft Toys. Small bears, bunnies and rattles. Toys help to bring out your childs personality. For older children, we suggest books, balls, rings and blocks. Nothing bigger than your baby. We want them to be the main attraction in the portrait.
What else do I need? A blanket or two which are light or pastel toned with a solid or simple pattern.
